Officially opening on Friday, Sydney Hidden Spaces kills off some of Sydney's best-kept secrets, from "brown bag" picnic lunch spots to rooftops, basements, lane way bars and pedestrian short cuts.
"It's an insider's guide to Sydney - from finding a perfect place for a picnic to getting across town in a storm without getting wet," the Lord Mayor said.

There will also be an arrangement by Brooke Green of Andrea Pandolfo’s Albanese, depicting the plight of Albanian asylum seekers.

Visit Avalon Markets for the day and enjoy a small slice of Sydney's beautiful Northern Beaches. Stop at Turrimetta Beach and / or take in the great views from the nearby Bible Gardens. The Avalon Market has over 300 stalls selling food, Christmas gifts, jewellery and homewares. To encourage you to come, there will also be a dog show, stilt walkers and local bands doing their best to entertain you. There is a great community vibe to the Avalon markets and it's a good opportunity to pick up some unusual Christmas presents. The nearby beach is pleasantly condusive towards an icecream break or lunchtime tactical withdrawal.
