Taste of Manly – The Food, Wine and Sustainability Festival – Saturday, 27th May to Sunday, 28th May
It’s fine thing this Manly get together. A great wine and food affair with plenty to see and do. It may not have the glitz of the film festival or the bright lights of Vivid but it tastes fantastic.

Vivid Sydney - 26th May to 17th June
If you haven’t heard of Vivid by now I almost envy you. I envy the thought that you might be in Sydney between the 26th May and 17th June and you look up at the Sydney Opera House the moment it starts. You won’t believe your eyes. You may have ‘been there and done that’. You haven't. It’s never same. The only thing that doesn’t change is all the people pointing at the lights. Don’t miss it.

Sydney Writers’ Festival – Walsh Bay – Monday, 22nd May to Sunday, 28th May
We are digital beings. There is no denying it as you are reading this online and I wrote it online. Just call me Sherlock. But the book won’t lie down and die. Bookshops still exist. The book is still better than the movie or most anyway. But whether it does ultimately succumb or not misses the point. It’s not the medium it is what is written than matters. The keyboard can be mightier than the sword. Attend the Sydney Writers Festival and you may discover why and even how.
